Education

We educate and train the next generation of veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of large animals.
The vast majority of the animals at the hospital are owned by the hospital. The University Hospital also welcomes privately owned animals for treatment by students under the supervision of qualified practitioners. If hospitalization is necessary, this is often done without charge to the owner.
The clinical courses at the University Hospital/IPH are the backbone of the practical training of veterinary students in animal diagnostics of large animals (horses, ruminants, pigs) and especially the diagnosis and treatment of horses. Up to 200 students receive daily instruction at the hospital and our staff are responsible for all practical matters related to course execution and administration.
